Da Mamo is a constant topper for a lot of forums I do my research and shortlist travel eateries from and I was not surprised by the amazing performance during my visit to Venice. It really turned around a long day of walking about the streets of Venice in rain into a pleasurable fun food experience.
Another thing to love is how close it is to Rialto which is almost the centre of life in Venice but it still gives you the inner Venice feel because of its location and how it is placed in the narrow streets.
Booking: Highly recommended. The place so quite famous and an early booking is highly recommended.
Interior and Ambiance: The restaurant is very cosy and has very beautiful slightly antinque-ish interior. I liked it even more because it was raining outside and the interior was particularly snuggle with waft of fresh pizzas being made in the open kitchen.
Food: The menu has some interesting choices from Local Venetian to classical Italian cuisine with a delicious variety of Pizzas with a special selection of Zodiac pizzas, interesting! I ordered my fav white pizzas and hailed Italia for the amazing invention.
Spaghetti in Black Sauce and seafood – Loved the spaghetti with a little bite cooked in cuttlefish ink that gives it a great seafood taste and tiny pieces of cuttlefish; splendid!
White Pizza with Mushrooms and Brie Cheese – I LOVE white pizzas. This was absolitely crisp with no saggy-ness in the middle or burnt sides and great tasting cheese. I finished the whole thing which just felt absolutely great.
Things to love: Central location, Local Food, Cosy interior.
Negatives: Pricey, Crowded, Had to wait 15 minutes despite the reservation.
