Vantra Vitao is located is the most unexpected location for a Vegan restaurant; Oxford Street, surprising! On my drive to find new innovative places to try the love being spread by the vegan warriors we arrived at Vantra. The restaurant has a very cozy and comfortable environment bu unfortunately the food just fails to wow despite being a lot of options in the buffet or perhaps that’s the reason for it?
Booking: I would recommend getting a table if you’re going in the evening but we walked in and it was fine because we got a table straight away.
Interior and Ambiance: The restaurant looks more like a kitchen with some tables and while I love that homely look it just somehow doesn’t go with the location and feels slightly awkward especially when you enter and are greeted by stale smell of juiced veg.
Food: We went for buffet and tried pretty much everything on offer which was quite a lot. You take the food in a big silver plate which is weighed and you pay by weight which is a good thing because you don’t waste food. I liked the concept.
The food unfortunately was quite bland and succumbed to the idea of vegan food ebing bland and tasteless. The lentils, mushroom curry, spinach and chickpeas were all pretty boring. The only saving grace was dessert which was quite nice because it was guilt free still a bit too sweet for my taste but I have never had cheese cake that amazing without any cheese so a big thumbs up for that.
Things to love: Location, Cheap and Convenient.
Negatives: Bland and Boring Food.
