I was looking for oysters in Lagoa da Conceição in Florianopolis when I stumbled upon Oliveira. My first reaction was slightly disappointed because it looked like a touristy place without much happening and right next to the Lagoon in downtown.
I ventured in on the recommendation of a local friend who talked to the owner and we were guaranteed fresh oysters. We made our way to the back where there are seats available facing the lagoon, still indoors though.
The interior is quite simple and the waiter who served us was very friendly. We ordered some normal oysters, oyster au gratin (Oysters with cheese) and coated crabs deep fried with some Caipirinheas (woohoo!!!).
The oysters arrived quite quickly and they were absolutely amazing, absolutely fresh and no hint or smell of old seafood; reasons I love sea towns.
The crabs were slightly bland but the cherry on top were the cheese oysters; these oysters baked with cheese were absolutely amazing. We got 6 initially but we got another round because they were simply irresistible and don’t forget lots of salt and lemon for normal oysters, it just makes the life taste so amazingly tangy which crawls amazingly through your beach and salt soaked skin.
All in all Oliveira was a good experience that made our evening very good so we headed to try some sand-up paddling.
