Traditional Turkish food has a huge influence of Ottoman Empire. The Kings brought their Central Asian influence with them and when that fused with Mediterranean food, the result is really fragrant and delicious Anatolian and Circassian Cuisine.
Ficcin offers the best of both and in a very refreshing way. Even though the place is just off Istiklal Avenue which is packed with tourists, the clientele seems to be local people mostly.
We ordered Circassian Fried cheese, a special pastry with minced beef, cold fish and BBQ’d aubergine with garlic.
The best feature of food here s how light it seems even though it is quite oily and you end up eating a lot. We decided to go with small portions to try more things instead of big main entrées.
The service was quick and bill was almost nothing. This place is well worth a visit if you happen to be in Istanbul.
