There are plenty of nice Japanese restaurants serving Sushi to Kobe beef BBQ in London, Thai food is in plenty as well and Chinese has its own town in Soho. A sister cuisine that is equally scrumptious is Korean food and ASSA is a lovely restaurant in Soho that servers some great Korean food. The menu is quite detailed with a lot of choice from Sea Food hot pots to Marinated beef and a lot of sea food.
The seating area is quite cozy and staff very efficient (We were seated in5 minutes in rush hour).
We decided to try the spicy marinated beef stir fry, squid teriyaki and seafood pancake with no appetite for massive seafood hotpots.
The food arrived in fairly quickly with dishes coming to table as they were ready. The spicy marinated beef stir fry was the crown jewel of the table, very nicely done with perfect taste and spices in very good proportion. Squid teriyaki was also very delicious with no sea food smell. The only thing slightly disappointing was seafood pancake because it was too oily.
A look around showed how popular their seafood hotpots are because pretty much every table had one, hopefully we’ll have the appetite for it next time.
The cafe might not be on the top of list but it is definitely worth a visit if you are interested in Korean food.
