Do in Rome what the Romans do fits this place more than any other. Located in a small building is probably the best restaurant a foodie can find in Rome, a small place with a queue outside with a simple menu, locally sourced ingredients and a recommendation from every travelling site I looked at.
This small cafe prides itself on being completely organic and all ingredients come from local, sustainable farms which are completely organic and cruelty free. For some reason you can taste it in the food of Da Enzo al 29.
The food is fresh, meat very succulent and cooked to perfection and wait for this, dead cheap!!! It doesn’t get better than that.
The cheese used is amazing and has a very distinct flavour. The lamb chops and ox tail pasta was great with Mediterranean style vegetables on the side. The owner came to check on how the food was and it was an absolute delight to have a little chat with food.
The best way to end such an amazing meal was obviously some Tiramisu, which just left us about the right shade of happy and ready for a night out in beautiful Rome.
Do book in advance because they have a long queue every day and limited seating capacity.
