We are going to get some local Danish food today. Cafe Norden is quite central in Copenhagen and offers a nice, calming environment after a long day of sightseeing and shopping. The place is self service so grab a seat and menu and then the journey begins. We ordered the smørrebrød which is traditional Danish open sandwiches with potatoes, fish cakes and some salad. Also got Tatare which is raw topside of beef, artichoke Mayo, pickled onions and croutons. And this is the first time I found flowers in my food and I’m not sure they were there to be eaten (too late anyway!)
The cafe has a great selection of food and the seating area is very comfortable with all the glitz and glamour of a posh place but at a reasonable price. Traditional Danish food has a lot of potatoes but this place mixed them really well with meat and open sandwiches. The fruits and sauces add an extra flavour to the food which is simple irresistible.
The food is really good and price is reasonable for a central Copenhagen place. Definitely stop here for some local food if you’re in Copenhagen!!!
